Who is visible in our society? Who is invisible? Why? What compels us to “see” one person and walk by another unseen?

I am thinking about people living on the streets. When “seen” they are a nuisance, a throwaway person. They are only “seen” when in the way or interfering with an “image” a community is trying to project. 

Cardboard is temporary; cardboard is transient. It is used and discarded. Discarded cardboard is not “seen” unless it is the way or not where it should be, detritus in the streets, interfering with an “image” a community is trying to project,
